Michael is a science graduate and spent the early years of his career working in Multinational Pharmaceutical, Electronic & Medical Device Industries, where he held a number of positions in Research & Development, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Training & Development and Human Resources.
In 1999 Michael identified an opportunity in the marketplace to provide HR on an outsourced basis to SME’s that could not justify having dedicated HR Professionals. Today, Boyd HR employs five Staff in the provision of this service to over forty Client Companies in the North West.
Michael is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD), an Associate Lecture with the National College of Ireland and is past President of the Letterkenny Chamber of Commerce & Industry. He is also a member of IBEC and the Small Firms Association.
Michael has over 23 years’ experience in the field of HR and is passionate in the delivery of value-added HR services to Client Companies and making them healthy, high-performing, fully-functioning and sustainable organisations.

Nicola joined Boyd HR in February 2019. Nicola studied Business in LYIT and obtained a Diploma in Employment Law in 2016.
Nicola has experience working in many different industries and in particular Retail and Hospitality. She has over 10 years of Management and Human Resources experience.
Nicola is a very precise, conscientious and cooperative individual who organises and plans in such a way as to be ready for as many contingencies as possible that Clients may have.
In her free time Nicola enjoys reading, walking and spending time with family and friends.
Garvan Gallagher

Garvan comes to Boyd Hr with many year’s experience in Hospitality Management, Nursing Home Management and Customer Services. Garvan recently completed his Diploma in Employment Law and is continuing his studies to include a further Diploma in Mediation.
Garvan is enjoying his new role within HR and hopes to continue his learning further into the future. He understands the need for quick and conscientious responses to meet the needs of the clients we have at Boyd HR.
He is driven to do his best to ensure the best outcome for anyone requiring his help. Garvan understands and uses the Boyd HR motto, doing his best in ‘Co-Creating Stronger Workplaces’.
Garvan enjoys spending time with his daughter, whilst also looking after his own physical fitness in the gym, where he can be found daily.
Garvan also coaches youth rugby here at Letterkenny RFC and as a Talent Coach for Ulster Rugby.
Noel Heavey

Noel joined Boyd HR In October 2019. Noel studied Computer Security and Digital Forensics in LYIT. Subsequently, he obtained a position in Office Administration in the Human Resources Department in LYIT. Noel is now an integral part of the Boyd HR team as HR Administrator and Technical Officer.
Noel has experience working in many different roles within the Hospitality industry, Customer Service Experience in the Telecommunications industry and he also gained valuable experience in his time working for the Public Sector.
Noel is an organised, conscientious and driven professional. He is a highly-adaptable team player with a particular interest in IT Security and Computer Networking. Noel is analytical in his approach and enjoys giving attention to the fine details of his work.
In his spare time, Noel enjoys spending time with friends, visiting the cinema, going on long walks and auto-detailing.
